Thomas was born November 1, 1953, in Springfield, the son of Patrick J. and Margaret E. Coldewey Egan.
He graduated from Lanphier High School in 1971 and attended Lincoln Land Community College for Art. Thomas was employed at Bridge Jewelry for 18 years. He had also worked for County Market and McDonalds.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and brother, Patrick Egan.
Thomas is survived by his sisters, Margi Egan of Springfield and Sarah (Jack) Hulsen of Chatham; nephew, John (Molly) Hulsen, M.D., niece, Jennifer (Eric) Surges; great-nieces, Emily and Ellie Surges; and great-nephew, Benjamin Hulsen.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m.
