
Thomas Edward ''Mac'' McGlennon, 81, of Springfield passed away 8:20 p.m. Thursday July 19, 2001 at The Villa Healthcare Center West. He was born on September 8, 1919 in Springfield, Illinois the Son of Thomas John and Mary Lay McGlennon. He Married Dorothy Ann Kinsley on June 12, 1941 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, She preceded him on death on June 11, 2001. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and later he attended Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 364, a member of the Holy Name Society and the St. Vincent DePaul Society. He was a Volunteer at St. John's Hospital Chapel, and was a longstanding member of the AA Community. He was a membr of the Sunset Club at the post office and also was a member of the American Legion post 32. He Served in the United States Army during During World War II. He Retired from the U.S. Postal Service at age 55 and then worked as a Part Time Truck Driver for the State Journal- Register. He was Preceded in death by his Wife Dorothy Ann. His Parents and 1 Son Thomas ''Brother Terrence'' McGlennon. 2 Grandchildren Matthew and Nicholas McGlennon. He is Survived by two sons: Terrence ''Terry'' (wife, Dee) McGlennon of Springfield, Kevin (wife, Shirley) McGlennon of Springfield; four daughters: Ruth Ann McGlennon of Springfield, Mary Pat (husband, Tim) Barnes of Owasso, OK, Colleen (husband, Ron) Wise of Springfield, Karen (husband, Rick) Barger-Woodrum of Springfield. 18 Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren,two brothers Albert McGlennon of Riverton and Raymond McGlennon of Salem, New Jersey, a sister Mary Katherine ''Mickey'' McGlennon of Springfield. Several Nieces and Nephews. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 4-7:00 p.m., Monday July 23, 2001 with a wake service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday July 24, 2001 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Most Rev. Daniel L.Ryan D.D. Principal Celebrant. Burail will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
