Tom McIntyre, 69, of Springfield, passed away at 8:05 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2002 at St. John’s Hospice. Tom was born October 30, 1933 in Springfield, the son of Thomas Bernard and Ruth Farrand McIntyre. Thomas retired from the State of Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He enjoyed playing golf. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son: Barry James McIntyre. He is survived by two sons: Kevin (wife, Suzanne) McIntyre of Scottsdale, AZ, Michael McIntyre of Rochester; one daughter: Sandy (husband, John) Rodems of Springfield; eight grandchildren: Jason, Rachel, Sara and Scott Rodems, Sean and Kelly McIntyre, Kate and Kassi McIntyre; one sister: Gerry (husband, Kenneth) Stone of Green Valley, AZ, one niece; one nephew and several cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2002. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2002 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Reverend Peter Harman officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
