Thomas "Mike" Tobin

Thomas “Mike” Tobin, 56, of Springfield, died at 5:08 p.m. on March 12, 2006 at his residence. Mike was born on May 24, 1949 in Springfield, the son of Thomas J. and Elizabeth Kruzick Tobin. He was a 1967 graduate of Griffin High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Southern Illinois University. Mike was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He was employed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources for twenty years. Mike taught reading and math at the Lawrence Adult Education Center. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas J. Tobin in December 1986 and one nephew, Michael Tobin Troesch on August 27, 2005. He is survived by his mother: Elizabeth Tobin of Springfield; two sisters: Maureen (husband, Robert) Leming of Springfield and Colleen (husband, Mike) Troesch of Springfield; two nieces; one nephew; two great-nephews and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 S. Walnut, Springfield, IL. Funeral Mass will be at held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with Rev. David Hoefler celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
