Timothy Joseph Schmidt

On July 11, 1970, Tim married the love of his life, Kristine Ester Johnson. Together, they shared more than 55 years of marriage and built a family filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Tim was the proud father of three sons: Todd Schmidt and his wife, Natalie, of Bloomington, Illinois; Tony Schmidt and his significant other Vera Lee of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Luc Schmidt of Davenport, Iowa. He was a devoted father who supported his boys in all of their activities growing up, whether he was cheering from the sidelines at baseball games, participating in Boy Scouts, camping, or fishing. He was also a loving grandfather to five grandchildren, whose many activities he loved to follow and support.

Tim enjoyed being outdoors, whether he was golfing, running, cycling, or simply taking care of the many dogs that were lucky enough to find a home with him. He was also a devoted Green Bay Packers fan, cheering them on through every season with the loyalty only a true Packers fan could understand.

Tim had a long career in the medical industry, with work spanning hospitals in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Springfield, Illinois; Bloomington, Illinois; and Gibson City, Illinois. Throughout his career, he was part of communities dedicated to caring for others. He was a member of West Side Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Kristine; his children, Todd (Natalie), Tony(Vera Lee), and Luc; his five grandchildren; his brother, Greg (wife Linda) Schmidt of Pewaukee, WI; and his sister, Mary Jo (husband Dale) Johnson of Wichita, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Bernadette Schmidt; his sister, Diane Schmidt; and his brothers, Mark Schmidt and Wayne Schmidt.

Tim will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Family and Friends are invited to a memorial service at Bisch Funeral Home West 2931 S. Koke MIll Rd. Springfield, IL 62711 Monday, May 11, 2026 beginning at 1:00 pm with Pastor Cindy Lash officiating, with a time for visitation to follow until 4:00 pm.
