He was born in Springfield on November 26, 1965, the son of Daniel E. and Betty J. (Morgan) Reed. Todd married Amy Kopatz in Springfield on June 21, 1986.
Todd graduated from Lutheran High School in 1984 and earned his associate’s degree from Ranken Technical College. He went on to work as a pipe fitter for Punzak HVAC from 1988-2013. He then worked at Airmasters from 2013 until his passing. Todd cherished spending time with family and friends and music of all kinds. He spent his weekends with Amy working in his yard and “just running to Menards for a few things”.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel; maternal grandparents, Maxine Hollingsead and Emmett Morgan; paternal grandparents, Helen Phillips and Orra Reed; and his beloved mother-in-law, Shirley Kopatz.
Todd took great pride in his work, approaching each day with dedication, integrity and a strong work ethic. He was respected not only for his craftsmanship and commitment, but also for the way he treated people with kindness, humor and sincerity. Todd believed in quietly serving the Springfield area and was proud of the work he did in local businesses. His work took him to many restaurants, and he knew every lunch special in town.
Over the years, he formed lasting friendships with many of his co-workers, who became more like extended family. The bonds he built at work were a true reflection of the loyalty and warmth he carried in every part of his life. Todd never knew a stranger and had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. Throughout his life, he formed deep friendships that meant the world to him. Above all, he was the best husband, dad, son, brother and uncle. He was fiercely loyal, endlessly loving, and always there when you needed him. His presence was a gift and his memory will be cherished forever.
Todd is survived by his mother, Betty; wife, Amy; son, Zachary (Amalia Ramirez) Reed;
daughter, Ashley Reed; siblings, Peggy (Lynn) Brockmeyer of Rochester, Jim Reed of Florida, and Kay (Billy) Reese of Florida; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and beloved family dogs, Maggie May and Tata.
