Toni Casey Pratt

She was born on December 19, 1948, in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of William H. and Winifred (Casey) Workman.

Toni graduated from Springfield Southeast High School in 1968 and attended both Robert Morris College and Lincoln Land Community College, studying her passion for Early Childhood Development. For over 25 years, she operated her own home daycare, working with children from infancy through school age. Eventually, she worked primarily with preschool-aged children at a local daycare. Toni thoroughly enjoyed youth baseball, and her involvement led to her being named league president of the Fairview Youth Baseball League and state president of the American Amateur Baseball Congress. Later in life, Toni became very interested in genealogy and spent numerous hours enjoyably researching her lineage. She additionally loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Winifred Workman; and a sister, Janet Rasmussen.

Toni is survived by her sister, Debbie Watts of Missouri; son, Jeffrey (Faith) Tavernor of Girard, IL; daughter, Christina (Brian) Parker of Springfield, IL; grandchildren, Brittany (Matt) Johnson, Ashley Tavernor, Stephanie Patterson, Courtney Tavernor, and T.J. Patterson; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Rylee Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center, prior to services.

Memorial Gathering and Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield, followed by the ceremony at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Mark Tracy officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
