Tony Yates

Tony Yates, 87, of New Berlin, died at 6:10 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018, at Reflections Memory Care. Tony was born December 9, 1931, in Island Grove Township, the son of Burch Warren and Anne Striegel Yates. He married Theresa Huddleston on July 26, 1958. Tony was a farmer and raised cattle all of his life in New Berlin. He was a member of St. Marys Church and the Knights of Columbus Fr. Fanning Council 4372, both of New Berlin. Tony enjoyed watching westerns. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Theresa Yates. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Yates of Chatham; children, Kathy (husband, Kevin) Workman, John (wife, Kelly) Yates, William (wife, Becky) Yates, all of New Berlin, and Karen (husband, Brad) Duggins of Fort Wayne, IN; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at St. Marys Church, 404 E. Birch St., New Berlin with Rev. Seth Brown, celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Knights of Columbus Council 4372, 715 E. Illinois St., New Berlin, IL 62670.
