Trina was born in Springfield, November 24, 1976 the daughter of Phillip E. and Sharon (Sloan) Gentry. Her father Phillip preceded her in death in 2008. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents.
Trina was a lifetime member of Concordia Lutheran Church LCMS in Springfield. She attended Springfield Lutheran High School and graduated from Southeast High School. She was very creative and enjoyed expressing that through crafts. She was always up for a shopping trip, loved to travel and whenever possible, would spend time fishing and taking a nice walk along a creek. She had a passion for animals and was well known by her family and friends as an excellent cook, especially the family chili recipe.
Trina’s care and compassion for others was most evident through her work, assisting counselors at the State of Illinois Department of Human Services.
She married Jacob “Jake” Lorscheider Oct. 22, 2004 and he survives. Also surviving are her children: Alexander Gentry-Chastain II, Zarrik Chastain, and Sophia Lorscheider, all of Springfield, her mother, Sharon, her sister, Tanya (Scott) Cox, all of Springfield, her brother, Tom (Patti) Gentry of Athens, IL. She has several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Visitation: Trina's family will greet friends from 4-7 pm Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen, Springfield.
Service of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Concordia Lutheran Church 2300 E. Wilshire, Springfield with Rev’s James Henning and Michael Koschman officiating. Cremation Rites will be accorded following the service with private inurnment at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Concordia Lutheran Church or the Animal Protective League.
