She was born April 3, 1955 in Springfield, the daughter of Betts J. Pree and John Howard Denny.
Valerie was a former resident of Palm Springs, CA and Las Vegas, NV for fourteen years. She was previously employed by the Secretary of State, and was active in animal rescue. She attended both Cathedral of Immaculate Conception and Westside Christian Church. She loved her family, pets, and music.
She is survived by her parents, Betts J. Pree and John H. (wife, Pat) Denny; sisters, Vicki Jane Denny and Kimberly K. Denny; nephews Robert and Christopher Thornton and Robert Edward Thornton Jr.
Visitation will be held on Monday July 23, 2007 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 24 at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel. Interment will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
