Vance R. Deopere

He was born on October 7, 1960, in Moline, IL, the son of Franklin L. and Patricia F. (Little) Deopere.

He graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education, specializing in athletic training. After working as an athletic trainer for Heritage Rehabilitation Clinic, he became a self-employed independent contractor in commercial and residential remodeling as well as lawn care and landscaping.

He was a 4th degree black belt in Shūdōkan Karate and competed in national and international tournaments. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, coin collecting, gardening, and riding his motorcycle during his youth.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Vance is survived by his sons, Damon (Erin) Deopere and Aaron Deopere; siblings, Debbie (Dale) Wood and Bruce (Debbie) Deopere; nieces, Collette (Craig) Palmer and Hannah (Chad) Hardcastle; nephew, Noah (Danielle) Buerkett; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. A private family burial will be held at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
