Vickie Sanders

Vickie Sanders, 58, of Riverton, died at 12:02 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at St. John's Hospice. Vickie was born February 21, 1951 in Carrollton, IL, the daughter of Lindell and Betty Jouett Farmer. She married Marvin Sanders in Palmyra, MO on August 15, 1975. Vickie was a very loving woman who was always thinking of others. She had a very strong Christian faith and was a member of Riverton 1st Baptist Church. Vickie had previously been employed as a bookkeeper at Scooby's and Stix in Springfield. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and especially time spent with her family. She was preceded in death by her father, Lindell Farmer and brother, James Farmer. She is survived by her husband, Marvin Sanders of Riverton; two sons, Timothy J. Sanders and Jonathon L. Sanders both of Springfield; three daughters, Elizabeth L., Kayla Kay and Chelsea Ann Sanders all of Riverton; four grandchildren, Ryan Lee, Elexsis Nicole and Willum Douglas Sanders of Springfield and Zada E.J. Sanders of Riverton; her mother, Betty Jarvis of Jacksonville; three brothers, John Farmer of Springfield, Kevin Farmer of Pahrump, NV and Mike Farmer of Springfield; and one sister, Lori Taylor of Jacksonville. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Memorial ceremonies will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Rev. John Keyes officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Virtues of Life Columbarium at Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Riverton 1st Baptist Church, 975 Riverton Rd., Riverton, IL 62561.
