Victor L. Edwards, 84, of Lincoln, formerly of Springfield, passed away on Sunday June 14, 2026 at St. Clara's Rehab and Senior Care in Lincoln. He was born on May 30, 1942 in Auburn, Illinois to Alvie LeRoy Edwards and Pauline Elizabeth Patterson Edwards. Victor married Beverly June Pearcy on December 24, 1961 in Loami and she survives.
He is survived by three children: Paul Edwards of Springfield, Julie (Tadd) Baumann of Springfield and Jennifer (Pete) Sgro of Chicago, three grandchildren: Cameron Edwards of Chatham, Ryan Yoakum of Nashville, TN., and Aaron Yoakum of Annapolis Junction, MD., one brother Ron (Elizabeth) Edwards of Springfield, and two sisters: Evelyn McCray of Loami and Macie (Ronald) Cummings of Mechanicsburg along with several nieces and nephews.
He served in the United States Air Force before earning a Bachelor of Divinity degree from Bible Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He later received a Master’s degree in Human Development Counseling from the University of Illinois Springfield.
Following a long career, he retired as pastor of Spurgeon Heritage Church in Holland, Michigan, before returning to the Springfield area. He was a dedicated Christian, husband, and family man. He loved music, enjoyed fishing and golf, and especially cherished time spent with his family, church family, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday June 17, 2026 at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Road, and burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 9:30am until the time of service Wednesday at Bisch West.
