Virginia Nell Painter, 75, of Springfield, died at 5:35 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at St. John's Hospice. Virginia was born March 6, 1933 in Jonesville, VA, the daughter of Roy and Gerushia Martin Miles. She married Charles F. Painter. He preceded her in death in 1999. Virginia worked for Memorial Medical Center in the laundry department until her retirement. She was a member of the Eagles Club and enjoyed dancing and being with her family. She was also preceded in death by her son, Marty Painter. She is survived by her children, Stanley R. (wife, Laura), Stephen R., Mark E. and Christopher J. Painter all of Springfield; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer Miles and Martin Miles both of Stickleyville, VA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Graveside ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 22, 2008 at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
