W. Charles “Chuck” LeGrand, 65, of Springfield, died at 10:50 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2004 at St. John’s Hospice. Charles was born April 26, 1938 in St. Louis, MO the son of Wilfred Charles and Birdie Hendrickson LeGrand. He married Elaine Kay Miller. Mr. LeGrand graduated from St. Francis De Sales High School, St. Louis, MO and attended the University of Missouri, Columbia and the University of Kansas. He was a retired sales representative, and a member of the Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife: Elaine Kay LeGrand of Springfield; one son: Mark LeGrand Flenniken of Ormond Beach, FL; one daughter: Andrea Joy LeGrand (husband, Chris Shay) of Houston, TX; one sister: Madelyn (husband, Al) Bossung of Imperial, MO; one brother: Anthony (wife, Janet) LeGrand of Downers Grove, IL; one stepson: Todd (wife, Susan) Miller of Springfield; two stepdaughters: Kathi Foster; of Springfield, Dena (husband, Brent) Flesner of Springfield; seven step grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Remains were donated to medical research. Memorial services will be held at a later date. The family of W. Charles “Chuck” LeGrand is being served by Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
