

Walter Joseph Sharp, 79, of Springfield, died at 8:28 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Eastview Terrace. Walter was born December 3, 1936 in New Berlin, the son of William W. and Rose Hermes Sharp. He married Rose Marie Crifasi on June 12, 1980 at First United Methodist Church, Springfield. Walter drove a truck for a living and worked at St. John's Breadline for many years. He belonged to the Eagles Club and Knights of Columbus #364. Walter enjoyed playing bingo, horse racing, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Bernadine Brennan; and four brothers, James, Merle, William, and Louis Sharp. He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Sharp; one stepson, Andy (Judy) Armstrong; one stepdaughter, Dawn R. (Mark) Pharis; four grandchildren, Shyla (Michael) Folker, Tara (Jose) Mendez, Brice and Chase Armstrong; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary (Fred) Bedolli and Bonnie Sharp; and numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation care was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Gathering and Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the memorial ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, with Rev.
