I was terribly sorry to learn of Bill's death in the most recent SH-G newsletter. Bill was in my religion class at Griffin, when he was developing into a young man and I was the frizzled-face former Viatorian known as 'Weird Beard.'  Please accept my late but heartfelt sympathy.  nick penning

Charlotte and Cathy -  I was shocked to hear of Bill's passing.   Thinking of him brings back many wonder memories of our days at Blessed Sacrament.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I worked with Bill during his Red Line, McKesson and Pro Med years.  I considered him a good friend and over the last few months, we spoke frequently on the phone. He was a great person and he will be missed.

Remembering the days at Goldblatt's with Bill was memories and he always kept us on our toes and he was a great guy and once in awhile running into him was a pleasure also. Bill was one of a kind and then the mold was broken. Whether we were cruising the streets in 95 degree heat with the windows rolled up so people would think his GTO had AC (Ok...it might have been my idea), or playing best of 100 (games) of pingpong one weekend while devouring a double batch of chocolate chip cookie dough and several gallons of milk (we tied), we would find unique ways to spend our time. 
Bill was always a true friend. who could ask for more!
I will dedicate several replays of "2 Hangmen" by Mason Profit  to you my brother!

Thoughts and prayers for you and your family  Ryan.  Bill was a wonderful man.  I was always so grateful to him, he was the reason my grandma lived an extra few years.  He had a heart of gold.  I admired everything about your dad.  He loved you and Jeffrey with all his heart. He always had a smile on his face and a few good stories to tell.   His friendship meant to world to me.  I will miss him.

Bill was a sales rep for one of our medical vendors.  Such a grentleman - always concerned that we had the very best service possible.  Always available by phone to resolve issues that were important to us.  His unfailing professionalism set him head and shoulders above the rest.  And I did appreciate his great sense of humor.  He will be missed.

Remember meeting your Dad at your in-laws house during the holidays last year he was a very nice and made us laugh. Our deepest conolences go out to you

For over 40 years, every time I was around Bill he made me laugh. I have many vivid memories of my times with Bill. Pulling pranks on the patrons at Goldblatt's while we were supposed to be working, a lost weekend at WIU, sharing jokes and stories, talking Illini sports, and in the last several years sharing e-mails back and forth on a variety of topics (Bill was clearly not a fan of the current President). Bill dearly loved his family and often expressed that love to me. My life is a richer and better because of my good fortune to have know him. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Like Marybeth, I met Bill our junior year at Western, when we all lived on the same floor in Higgins.  I was saddened to learn of his passing.  He was a lively, colorful and funny guy.  RIP

I was saddened to hear about Bill's death and so soon.  Ryan, the last time I saw your Dad he said "if I could just get a bottle of "Bella" each day I would have it made."  He adored her and all her energy!!!  I have many fond memories.  In fact we were just talking tonite about your dad and one of Rance's friend's @ Rance's surprise 40th birthday party.  Both your dad and this other friend have a great sense of humor and your Dad was not about to be outdone by this Lawyer from St. Louis.  They were out on the back deck putting on quite the show trying to outdo the other one.  He will be missed!!

I am so sorry to hear about Bill's death.  I have many good memories cruising McDonalds in his GTO and later we attended Western Illinois together.  When were together we laughed. He would see me and say,"Goody I have joke for you".  There are many stories to be told.  Later he would come to Champaign to Dooly's night and later he attended the Chili festival.  I will always remember him in life.  He lived a big life.

Bill was one of my best friends in grade school at Blessed Sacrament.  He was always happy and you could always count on him.  I'm sorry to learn of his passing.  We certainly got into our share of trouble together.  My sympathies to the family.

I was sorry to read this, this morning. He and I were good friends during the boys' baseball days. Bob and I send our sympathies to his family.

Bill was a great friend and a loving Father. I admired his strength through the fight he was much stronger than me, I will miss him more than anyone knows.
We had some great times and lots of laughs. Last winter it was great to revisit some of those memories with Bill. 
We love you Ryan, Bill was very proud of you and was most delighted with your daughter.
I will always remember Bill and you have our prayers.

I met Bill when I was a junior at WIU.  He, Ardith and I shared a house off campus my senior year.  After graduation, I moved to Springfield (at their urging!) and they generously shared their apartment with me until I found my own a week later.  He was fun and funny and my heart is very sad.

Thoughts and prayers to you and your family, Ryan. I babysat you and Jeff years ago when I was in high school.  I remember your Dad being very welcoming and having a great sense of humor.  May your memories bring you much comfort.

Billy was a great person.  More couragous than many know.  He knew how to live life to it's fullest despite adversities that always seem to crop up.    Until we meet again may you rest easy.    Love,  Critter.....
