Bill was born on December 8, 1941, in Springfield, the son of William and Helen (Vonagus) Grant, Sr. He married the love of his life, Jacqueline Rose Parker in 1970. She preceded him in death on March 21, 1999.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, and son, William Robert Grant, IIII.
Bill was a retired laborer for Local #477. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, woodworking, fishing, and hunting. When not outdoors, you could find him at his favorite watering hole enjoying a cold one.
He is survived by his sons, Dave and Rick Thompson; daughters, Laura and Kim Grant, and Theresa Thompson; 17 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Visitation & Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. on Monday, February 27, 2023, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield. A Funeral Ceremony will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
