I remember delivering milk to Mr. and Mrs Hagen over 20 years ago for Meadow Gold Co. in Springfield,
Bill was a very nice man and we always had a talk while I was there. He took a picture of me getting out of my truck and walking up to his door with my carrier full of milk. He is in my thoughts and prayers

Toni, Tiff & Family: I will always be grateful for the manner in which I was embraced by your family when I was just a youngster trying to find my way. So many memories I couldn't even list them all -- from taking Eric along on hunting trips, boating on Lake Springfield, and perhaps most memorable, Toni's wonderful Sunday dinners, your family had a huge and positive impact on me. And Tiffani, the hundreds of thoughtful greeting cards you sent to my mom over the years were so appreciated. Bill's personal and professional guidance cannot be measured, not only to me but to many others. He truly was respected, appreciated and loved, and he provided heart and soul to The State Journal-Register. Peace and love always. Barry

Dear Tonia and family, I am so sorry for your loss of Bill. He was always a gentle man and fun to be around. When I was in 4-H showing calves at the fairs he was there taking pictures of us! And you Tonia I have many good memories of us with activities in high school and especially our MYF trip to NewYork and DC. Love and Prayers to you, Virginia Lee

Dear Hagen family,

I am so saddened by your loss of your dear Bill. Mr. Hagen made the SJR a better place to be. His talents were immeasurable. His smile and his lovely demeanor to be so witty and caring at the same time, just a joy to be around all the time!!! I am so thankful to have had him be in my life here at the SJR for so long. The stories he told and the hugs he gave!!! Thankyou for sharing your husband and father, grandfather with all of us here at the old SJR. It was a true pleasure.
