

William David Hahn, 78, of Springfield, died at 4:15 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2003 at St. John’s Hospice. William was born November 17, 1924 in Springfield, the son of Nathan W. and Dorothy Hainsfurther Hahn. He married Betty L. Flesh, July 26, 1947; she preceded him in death August 2, 1986. Mr. Hahn was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a Surgical Technician in Central Europe during WWII. He worked as a Nursing Home Administrator, as well as working at Industrial Park Maintenance, Springfield Dodge, Metzger Pharmacy, Thrifty Drugs and Royal Oaks Nissan prior to his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars as well as a member of St. Agnes Parish. He was also preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his companion: Evelyn Steck of Springfield; one son: David Hahn of Springfield; one daughter: Karen Hamlin of Springfield and two grandchildren: Tara and Christopher Hamlin both of Springfield. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 5-8:00 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2003. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Reverend Peter Harman celebrant.
