

William W. "Billy" Jack, 64, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at his residence. William was born November 7, 1947 in Springfield, the son of Earl L. and Mildred L. Shelly Jack. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a chef at many restaurants in Springfield. William was also a CNA for many nursing homes. He was an active member of Fairview Baptist Church and the Eagles Aerie #437. He had many interests including karaoke, bowling, shooting pool, and watching his favorite baseball team, the Cubs. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard, Donald, and Ajax Jack; and sister, Glenda Chapman. He is survived by his daughter, Loretta Lynn of Petersburg; siblings, Pat Beaver of Springfield, Phyllis (husband, Willie) Carroll of Springfield, Cynthia Jack of Peoria, Harold (wife, Lorraine) Jack of Springfield, Robert Jack of Marietta, GA, Dennis (wife, Sharon) Kessler of Springfield, Ronald Jack of Milton, FL, Terry (wife, Rose) Jack of Dawson, and Dwayne Jack of California; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral ceremony at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, September 28, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Rev. Robert Gebhardt officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors provided by the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
