William Victor Kauffman

William Victor Kauffman, 99, of Jacksonville, formerly of Springfield, died at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2003 at Barton W. Stone Christian Home in Jacksonville. William was born July 10, 1904 in Peoria, the son of Lawrence and Eugenia Fischer Kauffman. He married Elizabeth Malone, September 30, 1926 in Peoria; she preceded him in death August 30, 1978. Mr. Kauffman was employed by Allis Chalmers as the Purchasing and Material Manager for 42 years, retiring October 30, 1966. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a son: William V. Kauffman, Jr.; one great grandson: Joseph Kauffman and four brothers. He is survived by two sons: James L. (wife, Noelle) Kauffman of Mt. Prospect, Robert J. (wife, Elizabeth) Kauffman of Peoria; one daughter: Mary Giacomelli of Rockford; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Kauffman of Springfield; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at St. Agnes Catholic Church from 11-12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2003. Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2003 at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Patrick J. Wright V.F. celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central Illinois, 2653 W.
