OBITUARY
William "Bill" Lucas Jr.
November 20, 1946 – April 1, 2021
William “Bill” Lucas, Jr., 74, of Springfield, formerly of Yakima, WA, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at St. John’s Hospital.
He was born on November 20, 1946 in Springfield, the son of the late William Edward and Audrey L. (Overfelt) Lucas, Sr.
Bill served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a mechanic for Caterpillar/Capitol Machinery. He was an avid golfer. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he loved to travel.
He is survived by his 2 children, Chad Edward Lucas of Kincaid, IL and Kari Ann (husband Eric) Watson of Springfield, IL; 5 grandchildren, Justin Lucas, Tyler McLean, Mitchell Watson, Claire Watson, and Mason Watson; 2 great-grandchildren, Bo and Ryann Lucas; his sister Sheryl Lindquist of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Patricia Hagberg.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, Springfield. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy and the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 2 pm at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield.
Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to the American Diabetes Association.
