William M. Norris, Sr.

William was born November 1, 1940 in Springfield, the son of Edward M. and Marguerite Minor Norris.

William was a graduate of Cathedral Boys High School. He proudly served in the United States Air Force in the Fire Department in Korea. He was a carpenter with Carpenters Local #16 for 52 years. He was involved with the United Way and enjoyed playing softball.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Pat Norris; and brother, Thomas Norris.

He is survived by his son, Will Norris, Jr. of Springfield; daughter, Stacie (Joel) Reichensperger of Springfield; two grandchildren, Payton and David Reichensperger; and three brothers, Edward (Rita) Norris of Springfield, John Norris of Springfield, and Charles Norris of OK.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield.

Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center after visitation.

Memorial Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 15, 2018 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
