William B. Parrish

He was born on June 24, 1924 in Auburn, IL, the son of the late William B. and Myrtle (Lewis) Parrish. He married Oma Vogt and she preceded him in death on Aug. 20, 2013.

Mr. Parrish worked as a buyer for Ace Hardware in Springfield for many years before retirement. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Auburn, IL.

He is survived by 3 children, Christy Jo (husband Mike) Boehm, Debra Jean (husband Mike) Friess, and William B. Parrish III; 4 grandchildren; 3 stepchildren, Barbara (husband Ed) Summer, Jeff (wife Debbie) Bruce, and Brian (wife Brenda) Bruce, and 10 step-grandchildren.

Besides his parents and his wife Oma, he was preceded in death by his first wife and by a step-grandson.

Services are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield. Cremation rites were accorded. A memorial graveside service for both William and Oma Parrish will be held on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 at 1 pm at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
