William J. Pfister

He was born on March 7, 1934 in Ridgway, IL, the son of the late Cletus Pfister and Ruth Walton Pfister. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Randall. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served in the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Betty of Bloomfield, IA, and children Beth (Sam) Pyle of Ridgway, IL, Mike (Brenda) Pfister of McLeansboro, IL, Donna Hesterly of Ridgway, IL, Mark (Tammy) Pfister of Morton, IL, Lisa Rider and Janice (Thomas) Drone, both of Ridway, IL. Grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Pfister, Andy Rider, Dylan Hesterly, Luke and Danielle Pfister, Kelly, Kris, Kory, and Kourtney Kuizenga and Dustin Drone. Great-grandchildren Gavyn and Bentley, Makuyla Martin, and Karter Kinbrue. Sisters Barbara (Paul) Lanham and Janet Dickey of Springfield, Mary Lou (Ed) Blankenship of Valier, IL, Elaine (Larry) Wilson of Rushville, IL and Anita (Val) Wargel of Ridgway, IL. Brother John David (Becky) Pfister of Tulsa, OK. Special Daughter Ann Shoemake of Georgia.

Services are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield, IL where visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011 from 9 am until time of the funeral service at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, with honors from the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
