

William J. Schuerman, Sr. 54, of Plainfield, formerly of Springfield, died at 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at Edward Hospital in Naperville. William was born October 24, 1948 in Springfield the son of George E. and Alinda Franz Schuerman. He married DiAnne Mizeur August 18, 1973. Mr. Schuerman was a graduate of Griffin High School and Quincy University where he had received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He was employed for the past 32 years by G.M.A.C. Financial Services working in the previous branches of Springfield, Decatur and at the time of his death in Orland Park in Commercial Lending. He was a member of St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church of Plainfield. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #364 of Springfield and a Cub Scout Pack Committee member at Our Lady of Lourdes, Decatur. He was preceded in death by his mother Alinda April 1, 2003. He is survived by his wife: DiAnne of Plainfield; six children: Jacqueline (husband, Dustin) Shafer of Downers Grove, William Schuerman, Jr. of Joliet, Emily Schuerman of Springfield, Elizabeth, David and Kathryn Schuerman all of Plainfield; one grandson: Nathan Shafer; father: George Schuerman; two brothers: Theodore (wife, Debbie) of Chesterfield, MO, James (wife, Sherry) Schuerman of Chicago; one sister: Maryann (husband, Greg) VanWinkle of Brookfield, WI; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 4-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2003. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2003 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Kevin Vann celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the college fund for the children of William J. Schuerman. The family of William J.
