Willie Hill

Willie Hill, 72, of Springfield, died at 5:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at St. John’s Hospice. Willie was born October 30, 1932 in Jackson, MS the son of Lynn and Estella Smith Hill. He married Mable Robinson on September 28, 1954 in Jackson, MS. Mr. Hill was employed as a mechanic with ARCO for over 25 years. After retirement he continued to work on a part time basis with the Springfield school district, Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) and Complete Care. He was preceded in death by: his parents, brothers, Robert and Albert Hill and sisters, Beatrice Patton, Ella Pace and Charlie-Mae Hill. He is survived by: his wife: Mable of Springfield; sons, Charles and Willie Maurice Hill both of Springfield, daughters, Dorothy Gale Rideaux, of Beaumont, TX, Ginny Shannon of Springfield, Marie Peterson of San Diego, CA, Brittney Nunn of Springfield, Lanesha Fortson of Phoenix, AZ, twenty-one grandchildren, six great grandchildren, sister, Johnnie Mae Smith of Detroit, MI and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Private memorial services will be held Sunday, September 4, 2005, at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Willies name to the American Cancer Society, 1305 Wabash, Suite J., Springfield, IL 62704. The family of Willie Hill is being served by Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.
