

Aide was born in Guadalajara, Mexico to Ysidro Calderon and Celia Perez on February 28, 1941. She attended John Muir High School in Pasadena, California and later graduated from Pasadena City College. She met her husband Ruben while attending a Methodist Youth Camp in the San Bernardino Mountains; it was love at first sight. They were married on September 14, 1963, and soon afterwards moved to Chicago where Ruben was a medical student. Aide worked as an accountant for Bank of America and Chicago Memorial Hospital. She also supported Ruben as a military spouse when he served in Panama as a U.S. Army doctor during the Vietnam War. The couple then returned to their home state and started a family. After raising her children, Aide worked as a retail associate in a Carmel Valley Boutique specializing in women’s fashion. She regularly assisted in Sunday School at The Church of the Wayfarer, Carmel. Aide was actively involved in the PTA of York Episcopal School and a member of the Carmel Women’s Club.
Aide is preceded in death by her father, Ysidro, mother Celia, sister-in-law Lupe, brother Carlos Calderon, sister-in-law Lydia Mayfield and brother-in-law Eli “Nick” Saenz.
She is survived by her husband Ruben Saenz, son Michael, daughter Cynthia, son-in-law Kurt, son Steven, daughter in-law Corinne, sister Carmen Delibrado, sister Maria “Candy” Calderon, and grandchildren Julia, Lawrence, Elizabeth, Elsa, Marius, and William.
Pallbearers will be Michael Saenz, Steven Saenz, Kurt Weinand, Lawrence Saenz, Marius Saenz, and William Saenz.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m., Thursday, June 12th at Demaine Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 13th at Demaine Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Wittig of Burke Community Church, officiating. A burial will follow on June 27th at El Carmelo Cemetery, Pacific Grove, California. Arrangements are by The Paul Mortuary.
Memorials may be given to her last domicile, Arden Court, Annandale, Virginia or Goodheart Healthcare, Annandale. The family of Aide Saenz wishes to extend our sincere thanks to friends and family, Arden Courts Annandale Staff, and Goodheart Healthcare.
