Sending thoughts to Aidin's family as a year goes by since he left us. May all good memories of your time with Aidin help bring you some comfort and peace.

AJ, as senior year progresses, I am beginning to feel like something's missing.  I remember when you came to Garfield in 6th grade, and we were friends by the 2nd day of school. I'm sure I will always remember the countless times we spent the night at each others house when we were younger. You're mom even reminded me of when we were at the skatepark and you broke your ankle while rollerblading! I completely forgot about that. You were always asking me to teach you how to play guitar, and for some reason it never happened. We did everything together back then. Although we didn't communicate nearly as much by the time we got to high school, I know I'll never forget any of those things. Love you, man.

I gave an entry earlier but I need to leave another good note again.  I still can't believe I ate my meals with this guy for 3 weeks and will never be able to do that again.  I feel like the failure right now because you're not here in this world.  I also feel like a bigger failure because I promised you I would get good at school and wrestling and I still can't beat most of those guys that were beating me months back.  Junior year is beating me down, and I lack the mental toughness to grind through the books.  Give me strength brother.  You're still in my mind.  God bless.  I don't sleep much now, but PLEASE just come to a dream.  It would lighten my day so much....Hope you're doing well man.

Aidin i have been thinking a lot about you in these past months and the pain only grows stronger. I think back to the times we spent playing lacrosse or just having fun at FUMA and it brings a huge smile to my face. I now am making a personal commitment to be the best friend,athlete, and son possible. When the Fuma LAX team takes the field next year and years to come, I and all your other brothers will be playing in your memory. You were gone way too soon and I would do anything to have you back. Even though we ony knew each other for one school year, FUMA worked its magic in making sure that your friends become something special; they become family.
I light ths candle not only in remembrance, but in hope that I may be able to see you one day not so far away.

Aidin.you were such an amazing person. And everyday i think of you. I pray for you and your family often. I know you watch over us all. I love you<3

Whenever I think of you I think of the first, and only guy, to ever bring me flowers (even if it was in 8th grade lol). I think of our cheesey jokes! "You're funny...funny lookin'!" and how you would roll your eyes immediately afterwards at how stupid I was for thinking it was so funny. I think of the only guy who could insult me, but still put a smile on my face at the same time. A lot of my best memories were with you, at your house. Whether it was a full on BBQ with all of our friends, or just you and me watching a movie, or sitting by the hot tub. Even when my phone would get broken, or just decide not to work whenever I was at your house for some odd reason, I still had the time of my life being completely cut off from the rest of the world with the exception of you. I would give anything to get those moments back. We were so close last year, and even closer in the summer, and I am unconditionally sorry that I EVER let us drift apart. It seemed almost intrinsic to go over to your house and be made fun of for eating so much food, even more than Aldo lol. Or being made fun of for being blonde on an hourly basis by you and Jeremy. I was looking through our old facebook messages and I was teasing you about how I was going to show you my toenail that was falling off hahaha. You were completely horrified! But you said you loved me anyways, even if I had a gimp toe :) I remember that one night we were sitting on your couch, just talking, sharing secrets, having a heart to heart. I just wish we could have had one of those again that night I was over at your house the weekend before this nightmare started. I wish I could have helped you in some way, and just let you know how much everyone cares about you, how much I care about you. I love you so much AJ and I wish you never left us, I would do anything to get you back. I can't even begin to explain how much I miss you, and the unbearing heartache I feel so often knowing that I will never get to see you again, or be able to make new memories. My heart continually battles with my mind, trying to convince me that you're still at FUMA on an extended stay. You will always be one of my most cherished friends, and someone I will never forget. It won't feel right this summer without you, but I already told Douglas that he has to be twice as mean to me to make up for you not being here. You will always be with me, and I plan to live my life to the fullest, and be the best person that I can be just for you.

Aidin, Adam and I visited your "wall" yesterday.  So many of your FUMA friends have paid such a wonderful tribute to you, with cards, pictures, crosses, memories, prayers and Bibles.  And they care. We all care. We miss you.

Aidin was a good friend. He sat next to me in leadership Training class during summer school at FUMA, and I'll never forget how he would come into class everyday smiling and onto the wrestling mat before practice eager to learn more, and to challenge everyone to wrestle him. He was very kindhearted and always eager to help others. Being a cadet by his side for the last year has been the experience of a lifetime and i'm glad to have been his friend.

I did leadership class this past summer with Aidin, and i got to know him really well. During this time we built a bridge ion the FUMA campus. What i saw of him was hard work, dedication, and faith. He did everything to the best of his ability and his absence with be noticed for a very long time. I am truly sorry for your loss, and your family will remain in our prayers and in the prayers of the cadet corps of Fork Union Military Academy forever.

Aidin was a mentor, role model, and always will be missed. May his family be blessed.

Aidin was not only a teammate to me, but he was also one of my closest friends on campus. I will never forget the times me and him spent together laughing and joking about stupid things. Aidin was a wonderful person, and i know without him i would be a different person than who i am today. Aidin will always be remembered and loved. We all miss you buddy.

Aidin was the best friend and teammate I could have ever asked for. He made me want to be a better person and I will always cherish and celebrate the time I spent with him on and off the field. I will always love and miss Aidin, and I know I am a better person for having known Aidin.

Being an alumni of the FUMA lacrosse team this deeply saddened me.  I never knew Aidin, but I will think of him whenever I take the lacrosse field and play in his honor.

My heart broke when I heard about Aidin, he was such a bright role model and mentor to my son (currently 8th grade at FUMA).  I cannot imagine how this is affecting your family, but please know we have shed many tears for your sweet son and he and the Jones family have been in our thoughts and prayers.  Aidin will be greatly missed, and always remembered.

Even though your dreams never came true, I'm making mine come true for your sake. I was too immature to understand your passion for everything you did, but I have changed almost 2 years since I met you, and I finally found passion in my life. I'm relentless now, you have toughened my mind and I'm thicker than ever.  Some say I'm stubborn, others say I'm obsessed, but to me, its pure DEDCIATION, which was what you had. God bless.

Aidin has had such a profound impact on so many.  He went to CTY with our son James a few years ago.  James really looked up to Aidin.  He will be missed by many CTY friends.  You guys are in our thoughts and prayers.

I met Aidin at CAA Easton Session 2 in Summer of 2010.  He was one of the first few people I met there and was not awkward at all to speak when I randomly approached him at one of the lunch tables in the Fairnon dining hall.  I would end up with the vibe that he really cared about what he did, was a natural leader, and would participate in a good amount of group activities as I did.  He ended up being someone I wanted to look up to, and it saddened me that this were to end up happening to him.  However, I have constantly prayed for him every moment since, and I have vented a lot about all the good times we've had, and I hope he has seen all of my actions and is giving me strength at this time....His dreams may have been lost forever, but I promise the Jones family and Aidin that I WILL become successful.  May God bless all of you.

There is far too much to say about you AJ. But what I do want to say is that you brightened up my day as well as those around you. When you walked into a room your presence made the room feel at ease. You are one in a million and this isn't good-bye but instead a "see you later". My prayers go out to AJ, his family, and everyone else who has been blessed with AJ's friendship. We love you man!

Aidin Jones was a very good friend of mine and I'm very sad to see him go. I pray for you guys because you must be going through a very rough time. Jones and I had some good times through this year. I played lacrosse in summer school with him this year, He displayed great talent and leadership, but overall he was a very good friend. I really hope he is in a better place now. Aidin was a very kind man. I'll never forget the times i had with him on the lacrosse team. He was a great goalie and teammate, and even more, a better friend. My prayers go out to him and his family.

Our grandson Thomas Denton is a student at FUMA and knew Aidin as the officer from Upper School in his barracks. Aidin's death has made a lasting impression on this young 8th grade student as he tries to share his sadness. Our paths my never cross but I will forever carry a place in my heart for you in the tragic loss of Aidin, so young and vulnerable.

I remember I almost cried when you told me you weren't going to do orchestra my senior year. Who else was going to make me laugh when I got into constant arguments with Ms. Gladys? You had something about you that made people feel good whenever you were around. Even when I was helping you with your girl problems, I think it was you that helped me the most. You were always there for me. You were a great guy, friend, and athlete, and I bet you're making a pretty terrific angel up there. I wish I were better at saying goodbye, but I know I'll see you again. Rest in Peace, buddy.

Sitting here its really hard to think about what to say. I think I can speak for the everyone that this has been a very difficult week. Aiden was a our team mate, our friend and our brother, its so difficult to cope with the fact that none of us will ever see him again. We love and miss him very much and he and his family will be in our prayers.

Though you have left us to soon, your awesome personality, respect, and care for those around you will stick with us for a long time.  Thank you for being a great student and friend to many in the Lee community.  Rest in Peace and see you later.

Dear Aidin, I didn't really know you at all. I only saw you a few times with my brother. I do remember all the fun you two seemed to have together, and the ridiculous names you both came up with for each other. To me you'll always be "Aidin-huuuhh!!" the lax boy who made everyone smile. I wish I had known you better. I am praying for you, your family, and all those you have left behind who are hurting. There are never the right words to say that can comfort anyone affected by this terrible loss. My heart is so very heavy, and saddened by this news. I did not know your son personally, however I have a child at FUMA Middle School and my heart breaks for you. As I read through each post I got a glimpse into the life Aidin lived and he seemed amazing. I know that many parents are grieving with you, myself included. My prayer today is that through the Lords strength you will gain peace and understanding during this most tragic time. I am a 1986 graduate of Fork Union Military Academy and I grew up in the town, where both of my parents worked at the school for nearly 40 years.  While I never met Aidin, I feel personally connected to him through my association with the "brotherhood" of FUMA cadets, and I am extremely saddened for this tragic loss of such a young life. I am a FUMA mom and I cannot express how deeply saddened I am for the loss of this young man.  My heart deeply goes out to the Jones family and I pray that God will give you peace during this time.  Even though I did not know him, my family has been deeply affected by his loss as my son was in his Bravo company at Fork Union. I know that Sam my son, crossed paths with Aidin and he is very saddened by the loss of his classmate.  As a FUMA family member to the Jones family, please know that my heart hurts for you. Aidin was always so nice and happy. He was a very good athlete and had a warm, cheerful smile. I didn't get a chance to know him too well but the few moments we had at CTY Easton Session 2 were definitely memorable ones. May God comfort the Jones' family in this time of sorrow.
