Alex Eugene Wilson, also known by his nickname “Geno”, was the second eldest child born to Geraldine Turner on July 1, 1952 in Westmoreland, VA. He peacefully departed from this life on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Inova Fairfax Hospital, Falls Church, Virginia.
Alex attended Westmoreland County Schools through the age of 16 and subsequently entered Job Corps to specialize in various trades. In 1981, he met the love of his life, Christine Wilson. From this union, families were united and two children were born. Throughout the years, Alex exemplified hard work and secured various positions. In the early 1990s, he became employed in aviation services at Washington Reagan National Airport. After 20 years of service, Alex was planning to retire later this June.
Alex enjoyed spending time with family, friends and love ones. On Sundays during football season, he routinely cheered for his favorite team the Washington Redskins. Alex had an extroverted personality and everyone who knew him could attest to his stylish attire. Alex believed in living life to the fullest and enjoying every moment. Throughout his life, he instilled values of honor, trustworthiness, respect, devotion, and sincerity. His legacy lives on through his children and family. He leaves to cherish precious memories his wife, Christine Wilson; mothers: Geraldine Turner and Martha Anne Wilson; four daughters: DeVonna (William) Tate-Hollins, Natasha McKenna, Crystal Johnson, and Alexis Wilson; three sons: Keith (Acacia) McKenna, Alex Wilson Jr., and the late Alex Tate; five sisters: Peggy (David) Ball, Lucy Wilson, Linda (Alfonzo) Fulcher, Audrey Kelly, and Patricia Wilson; eight brothers: George Turner, Robert (Lorraine) Turner, Otis Turner, Lloyd Turner, Wayne Turner, Warner (Della) Turner, Henry (Kim) Turner, and Ralph Wilson; two aunts: Ruth (Wayne) Dixon and Dinnell Lucas; one uncle: Thomas Clayton, one great-uncle: Ralph Wilson; seven grandchildren: LaQueda Tate, Antoine Tate, Alexis Johnson, Mya McKenna, Jasmine McKenna, Corde Wilson, and Colin McKenna, and many family members and friends.
