

Ann was born in Fort Smith Arkansas to Richard and Martha Kwasnewski Stewart on December 24 1958. She graduated from Lake Braddock Secomdary School in Burke, Virginia and the Washington School for Secretaries. Ann started her career as a secretary and advanced to become a COTR (Contract Officer Technical Representative) over her long career at the Department of the Interior. She was tireless in many areas in assisting the underserved in her community of Annandale, Virginia. She was an active member of ACCA (Annandale Christian Community for Action) where she was a Board member. She served as a Food Captain, coordinating food deliveries on a weekly basis. She also bought, packed and delivered food herself, among other duties.
Ann was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Annandale where she was on the Church Council and a member of both the Evangelism and Worship Committees. Although she spoke “Google Spanish,” her Spanish was getting better and she attended and helped serve at the early Spanish Service. She especially loved working with the children and was a substitute Sunday School teacher. She was active in the Church’s special events, like the Easter Egg Hunt, Trunk-or-Treat and the Bells of Hope. Ann was passionate that no one should go hungry or be without the basic necessities of life. During COVID, at the most severe period, she co-created The Food Pantry/Hygiene Project where she bought, packed and delivered these items to the underserved in Annandale.
Ann was a huge and vocal supporter of The Salvation Army. After working with them in Little Rock, Arkansas, she was proud to be a part of their mission, which she carried on when moving back to Virginia.
Ann was also a member of El Manrah Temple #132, Daughters of the Nile, a women’s organization which charitably supports Shriners’ Children’s Hospitals and their patients.
Ann is preceded in death by her mother, Martha Stewart, and her husband Stephen Joseph Hudson.
Ann is survived by her daughters Martha and (Ronald) Beach, Kristeen Beach and (Saleh Elouafi), her brother R. Bradley and (Deborah) Stewart, sisters Elaine and (David) Stewart-Craig and Lauren and (Mark) Greinke, and her father Richard C. and (Cynthia) Stewart. She has four grandchildren, Victoria Beach, U.S. Army 2nd Lieutenant Dakota and (Kiersten) Beach, Joseph Beach and Salem Beach.
Ann led a simple life and requested no formal service. She will be remembered at a private family gathering honoring her life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to ACCA or the Salvation Army.
