Ann Bayne Maichak

Ann M. Bayne Maichak of Springfield, Virginia passed peacefully into eternal life on January 24, 2023 at the age of 87. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Ann was born June 3, 1935 in Whitney, PA to John and Anna Cibulas. A loving wife, Ann was married to Jim Bayne for 36 years until his passing in 1992 and to Tom Maichak for 18 years until his passing in 2020. Loving mother of Stephen Bayne and Linda Haislip. Adored grandmother of Ashley Fiacco, Jake Haislip, Nicole Hornig, Megan Bayne, and Stephanie Bayne. Cherished great-grandmother of Luca Fiacco, Brielle Fiacco, Eloise Haislip, Richard Hornig, Beau Haislip, Angela Hornig. Dear sister of Irene Balazek, Mary Goswick and Robert Cibulas. Ann was preceded in death by her parents John and Anna Cibulas, and her brothers, Joseph, John, Edward, Bill, Steve and Duke.

Ann will be remembered for her love and dedication to her family and for her selfless and tireless energy in helping others. Family was always her greatest joy and source of pride. Even throughout her illness, Ann loved to share memories of all chapters of her life, including her early years in Norvelt PA, raising her family with Jim Bayne, her retirement years with Tom Maichak, and of course, every aspect of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will take place at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Annandale VA, on February 14, 2023, at 10:00am. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Alexandria VA. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in Ann’s honor.
