Barbara Ann Tritapoe

Barbara Tritapoe Silva 85, of Alexandria, VA passed away in Falls Church on October 10, 2026. Barbara was born in Washington County, MD to parents Minnie and Levin Tritapoe. She is predeceased by her husband, Christopher A. Silva, who passed away on June 18, 1998.

After graduating from Boonsboro High School, she was employed by the U.S. Department of the Air Force at the Pentagon. There she signed up for many courses and then began a career as an Executive Secretary to several Generals in Air Force Intelligence.

She Later moved on to Air Force security as a Personnel Security Specialist. At Air Force Intelligence, she earned numerous outstanding achievement awards until her retirement.

Barbara loved Alexandria and she was an Honorary Citizen of George Washinton’s Mt. Vernon. Barbara loved people and made lifelong friends wherever she was. She had a generous heart and donated to many charitable organizations. Barbara loved music, traveling, cooking and baking and entertaining at home.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 11:00AM at New Jerusalem Lutheran church, 12942 Lutheran Church Rd, Lovettsville, VA 20180. The interment will be held at first Union Cemetery, Lovettsville, VA. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Barbara’s honor to New Jerusalem Lutheran Church where she was a member.
