Mrs. Whitsett was born in Reidsville, North Carolina and lived in Virginia since 1953. She was the daughter of the late Robert Calvin Jones, Sr. and Alice Mae Atkins Jones. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings Charles Jones, Robert Calvin Jones, Jr., Elizabeth Williams, Ruth McDowell, Alice Jones, and Robbie Barnes. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Walter Lyle Whitsett. She is survived by her daughter Sarah Whitsett Rearick and husband Lewis; two grandsons Walter Lewis Rearick and Charles Hunter Rearick; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA 22151 on Saturday March 12 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin an hour before the service.
