Carol Diane Thompson

Carol Diane Thompson - Known to all as "Diane."

She was born on April 11, 1948 to William A Carter and Myrtle Irene Carter. She is preceded in death by her brother Van Carter, her Mother, Father, and Grandparents.

Diane is survived by her husband Joseph Lea Thompson - her best friend and love of her life. Her son Sean Gray, daughter Christie Gray DeMeza, 8 grand children, 1 great-grand child, her sisters Colleen and Jody, brother Mark, as well as, all their families, friends and neighbors.

The family - after 65 years - still does not know where the name "Carol" came from. . .

Diane always surrounded herself with family and friends. She loves you all!

She loved the beach, gardening, mastering her Mother's recipes, and helping others, no matter what the task. She loved to have fun in anything she was doing!

Diane's occupation was a licensed Insurance Agent. She worked for many different agencies, until she was hired by Paul S. Gilbride Insurance Agency. Gilbride is a family owned and operated business. What do you know, she worked for Gilbrides until she retired in 2013. The gilbrides became her family. Throughout the years, her love for them grew stronger. She dearly loved and cherished each of the Gilbride Insurance staff.

On January 12, 2012, Diane was diagnosed with cancer. As of that day, THE BATTLE WAS ON! For 19 months, Diane endured so much and was among the BRAVEST OF THE BRAVE.

In so many ways, she taught us to have more faith and hope, how to love, how to forgive completely, how to speak softer, the importance of tears and laughter, and how prayer and God's love will set you free. All of these will give you the strength to become stronger.

On July 23, 2013, Diane - the wife, mother, sister, grand-mother, neighbor and friend - became perfect. . . peaceful. We only have our Father in Heaven to thank.

So as you read this today, know that she loved you all, and will see you again.
