Dan was born in Teaneck, New Jersey to Daniel and Joan McNulty on December 18, 1957. He grew up and went to school in Bergenfield, NJ where he met the love of his life Kathryn McNulty. Growing up Dan exceled in both baseball and football, and went on to play college football at The College of the Holy Cross in 1979 where he received an undergraduate degree. Dan continued his education receiving a law degree from Seton Hall Law School in 1982. In front of their friends and family Dan and Kathy were married on June 12, 1982. Dan was a veteran and served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a defense attorney in the Navy's Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps. After his military career Dan continued his legal career and ultimately continued his passion in the defense of his country as part of the General Counsel team for Lockheed Martin.
Dan was a devoted family man who put his wife and children above all other things. His devotion and unwavering love were the foundations on which he and Kathy built the most loving family. His favorite days revolved around spending time with his family at Lake Anna. He was an avid fisherman and duck hunter, enjoying these activities the most when he did them with family.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Joan McNulty, and his sister Patricia McNulty.
Dan is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathy McNulty; two children and their spouses, Trish and Tom Neiman, Daniel and Megan McNulty; three brothers Thomas, Timothy and Michael; and three grandchildren, Finley and Jameson Neiman and Maeve McNulty.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2022 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Demaine Funeral Home (5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA, 22151)
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 10:00 am at Nativity Catholic Church (6400 Nativity Ln, Burke, VA, 22015). Burial will follow at Quantico National Cemetery at 1:00 pm Arrangements are by Demaine Funeral Home.
