Denis D. Finch

Age 75, loving husband of Susann LeClair Finch, died Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA. He was born July 27, 1938, in Baltimore, MD, son of the late Ralph and Janie (Powell) Finch. Mr. Finch graduated from St. John’s High School in Frederick, MD in 1956 and attended two years of college. Mr. Finch served in the United States Army in the Intelligence Community for six years. Mr. Finch loved the retail business and spent 20 years opening Holly Farms Fried Chicken and Seafood Restaurants. For six years he worked as a Home Inspector and then for the last 14 years owned his own home inspection business. Loving the retail business he opened and operated his own a franchise of his own (Lenny’s Sub Shop). He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. In addition to his wife, family members include one daughter, Denise S. Finch of Marshall, VA; two sons, (the late) Daniel P. Finch and David W. Finch of Fairfax, VA; a sister, Leslie Futrell and husband William Futrell of Frederick, MD; one niece, Jamie Stafford of Ashburn, VA; and one nephew, Michael Markoe and his wife Elisa Markoe, of Frederick, MD. He enjoyed life. He treasured being with people and exchanging thoughts and opinions without the omission of humor. He was a loving husband; father, brother, uncle, and friend.
