OBITUARY
Dolores Ann Kruger
May 4, 1937 – October 10, 2018
IN THE CARE OF
Demaine Funeral Home
Of Alexandria, on October 10, 2018 at the age of 81.
Dolores is survived by her son Jeffrey Alan Kruger and wife Brooke Elizabeth Kruger and her beloved grandsons Weston Davies Kruger and Miles Chilen Kruger, as well as her best friend and sister Veronica ‘Cookie” McGinty and other brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in passing by her husband, Walter Kruger.
Dolores was born and raised in Pennsylvania and moved to Virginia after high school where she met her husband and started her family. She was known as “Dee” to her friends, family and almost everyone else. Her grandsons (Weston and Miles) called her “Dee Dee” and it brought her great joy and happiness. To her only son Jeff, she was and always will be just “Mom”.
She was born on Star Wars Day (May the Fourth, be with you) and passed on World Mental Health Day (October 10th). She and her family would want those who knew her to embrace both of these days with equal vigor.
Dee worked for Fairfax County Public Schools for many years, including in admissions at the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.
She was young at heart, had the gift of creativity and always wanted to help those around her. More than anything in the world, she loved her boys (Jeff, Weston and Miles). Her patience, attention and relationship with her grandsons was special.
She will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Dolores' memory to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.
