I too was very sorry to learn of Don's passing.  Don represented the finest qualities in a helicopter flight engineer.  He is legendary among us older flight engineers.  We all had great respect for Don and would have flown anywhere with him.  My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I am very saddened for our loss of Don. I served with him in the USAF and was one of his instructors when he became a flight engineer on the CH-53 in Thailand in 1975. I also knew him at Andrews AFB, MD. Don was a good friend and fun guy, but above all, a consummate professional. He will be missed by all.
