Edward David Eberhard

On April 23, 2016, Edward passed away in Arlington, VA. He was predeceased in 2008 by his wife of 51 years, Alice. He is survived by his daughters Suzanne Alexander (Andy) and Joan Tomlinson (David) and grandchildren Edward, Emma, and Eva.

He was a graduate of American University earning a degree in public administration. He served in many administrative employment positions early in his career and ultimately served as the Administrator for the D.C. Fire Department until his retirement. He returned to work as a building superintendent for New York Avenue Presbyterian Church and later as the facilities manager at Vienna Presbyterian Church. Edward, a long-time member of New York Avenue Presbyterian Church, sang in the choir and served on several church boards.

Visitations will take place on Monday, May 2, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 with a service to follow at 11:00 am at DEMAINE FUNERAL HOME, 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA 22151. A private family burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Honorary VFW, IAFF, New York Avenue Presbyterian Church, or Vienna Presbyterian Church.
