She graduated from the Philippine College of Commerce with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Commerce and graduate studies at the University of the East. She worked in a shipping company before she moved to Canada on March 18, 1971. Then in November of 1971, she started to work at the World Bank, until her retirement in 2003.
She married Edward Dizon, Jr. on September 24, 1977. They have two children, Noel and Emmalyne. She loved to travel and had a compassionate heart to help others in need.
