

"Wick"
Age 95, on October 26, 2013, in Arlington, VA. Beloved husband of 66 wonderful years of Pearl W. Foy; father of Richard E. Foy of Annandale and Randall S. Foy and his loving partner Amanda Bolanos of Springfield, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Predeceased by his parents John G. and Josie Belle Foy; three brothers: John Griffeth Foy, Jr., James Leon Foy; and Patterson Warlaw; and four sisters Lila Vermella Cannon, Carrie Lucille Fanning, Mary Belle Hudgens, and Norma Virginia Best;
Wick was a veteran of World War II, having served three and one half years in the Southwest Pacific Campaign. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed fishing on the Chesapeake Bay, traveling, and especially vacationing with his family to Myrtle Beach.
He was successful in having a long career in the printing industry, beginning in 1946 as an apprentice photoengraver at the Washington Times Herald. He later worked 17 years at Lanman Engraving Co., four years for the Negatype Corp., and 25 years at Washington Post as a color proof press operator, retiring in 2000. He served multiple terms as the financial secretary and treasurer of the photoengravers former Local 17P and one term as executive vice-president of the successor union, GCC/IBT Local 285M, He is a long time resident of Annandale, VA.
The family will receive visitors at the Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Rd., Springfield, VA on Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, where a Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 PM, officiated by the Reverend Julie Hill. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Batcon.org.
