In 1982 he and Verna Kaylor were married and made their home in Lorton, VA near the Potomac River. Saturday nights they went dancing at the Elk’s Lodge or the Ft. Belvoir Officer’s Club. Doc also loved to watch football. He had many favorite teams, but never narrowed it down to one.
