Evelyn Anderson was called to rest with the Lord on April 6, 2017, at the age of 91, just 10 hours after her son Mark was called to his glory. She and her husband Lefty would have celebrated their 70th Anniversary on this day. Evelyn is survived by her two daughters Pamela Rudolph and Terri Anderson, her son-in-law James Rudolph, five grandchildren, Scott Rudolph, Loni Garatziotis, Megan Fleming, Brian Anderson and Holly Anderson, and three great grandchildren Ryan Rudolph, Hailey Fleming and Alexander Garatziotis.
Evelyn was born in Mahia,Texas on September 30, 1925. While living in Kilgore, Texas with her mother and father, she developed a love of dancing as a Kilgore Rangerette. After graduating from Kilgore College, Evelyn met her husband Lefty at a dance social, and they began their life together on April 6, 1947.
Evelyn's calling in life was to nurture others, love and honor her family and friends above all else, and celebrate the Lord. She also found joy in cooking pies (which first started at the Country Kitchen restaurant that she and Lefty owned and operated in Missouri), gardening, dancing, boating on the Lucky Star, her bridge clubs, and decorating (especially for Christmas), and was known to have Christmas trees in every room for the holidays. Annually Evelyn and her lifelong friends planned a special trip to the beach for a week. Evelyn, also known as Mimi, particularly loved being surrounded by her family at the Lake House in Edwardsville, Virginia, which became the center point of all their celebrations and happy times.
Evelyn's selfless nature, loving embrace, gentle smile, sweet voice, practical advice, and good ol' fashioned cherry pies will be forever missed. She has touched all of our hearts and will be with us always. Love you more.
