Evelyn was my very first and only personal banker and to say she offered value every time you saw or talked to her is an understatement. Great hugs and experiential knowledge from being a mom to then a grand mom to a woman in business who deeply cared for her "people." She left quite an impression on my teenagers, too, when they were just toddlers. What a blessing Evelyn was to the Lucchesi Family. We were made better because of her of care and trust.

Evelyn's impact on the people around her was enormous for the too-few years she had with us. Not many people are as consistently supportive and genuine as she was. May her spirit continue to inspire and create community.

We first met Jim & Evelyn at Ft Leavenworth, Kansas in 1989! Our friendship continued for several mutual assignments in the military. Evelyn and I moved ourselves during Desert Shield from off post to on at Ft Campbell. We even had our youngest children around the same time! Evelyn was so helpful when we moved to the DC area the first time. I started a Bunco group and Evelyn was one of the original members of our group. A gracious hostess and tons of fun!! Then we ended up in Hawaii together! Her love for orchids came through there! She had a beautiful gift of Aloha!! Then we were lucky enough to unite again back here for a second time. We both were back with our Bunco buddies! I loved hearing her say BUNCO! Or come on Jean it’s time... Bunco! Oh and, Evelyn made the best egg rolls! She would always send some home for Steve! She was so proud of her husband and her boys! She was so excited to be a grandmother! I will so miss her smile! Hugs Evelyn!

Evelyn was and is a treasure for all of us. We were all family, and she was such a bright and beautiful light. We miss her so much. There is no getting used to her absence from our gatherings, but then again she really is with us, just in a different way. We love you always Evelyn, and are comforted as you are in the best of places. We will see you again❤️

Evelyn will me missed by my wife and I, she was always ready to stop what she was doing when I walked into the bank and help me. A true friend.

My heartfelt sympathies to Jim and the whole family. I am so sorry. Evelyn was truly a friend to all. If she saw you walk into an event, she welcomed you with her genuine warmth and enthusiasm. In addition to being cherished at United Bank, her tireless commitment to WEBA helped make it the success it is today. She was also instrumental in the growth and success of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce. She made a lasting difference.

She will be sorely missed not only by your family, but also by our community as a whole. Gone far too young.
Thinking of you and yours,
Allison Silberberg
