

Frank J. Massaro, 96, former Washington Metropolitan Police Officer and Secret Service Uniform Division Lieutenant, died on 10/01/2025 at Alexandria INOVA Hospital from cancer. After a career in Law Enforcement, he was the Director of Public Safety, Transportation and Traffic at Georgetown University in Washington DC. Mr. Massaro was a longtime resident of Springfield, Va. and was born in Milford, Massachusetts. He served in the U.S. Army and participated in the occupation of Europe and the Korean War era.
Mr. Massaro earned a Master’s Degree from George Washington University and Undergraduate Degrees from American University and Southeastern University in Washington, DC. He was a Parishioner of Saint Bernadette’s Catholic Church in Springfield, Va., and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
His professional associations include the FBI National Academy Associates, U.S. Secret Service Uniform Division Retirement Association, DC Police Retirement Association and American Legion Post #176. Additionally, he served as Commander of American Legion Post #123.
Mr. Massaro was married to Marie Ann Ristaino of Franklin, Massachusetts for 71 years. He is survived by his wife, three sons and a daughter in law; Steven F. Massaro, Peter J. Massaro, Andrew C. Massaro and Raewen Massaro and four grandchildren; Meghan, Joseph, James and Angelina Massaro.
A visitation will be held at Demaine Funeral Home, located at 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA, 22151, United States. The visitation is scheduled for October 8, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
