Gay spent most of her work life on Capitol Hill where she was considered a fixture.
She followed that tenure with a memorable 10 years at The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) where she made more life long friendships.
In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with family, friends, reading, playing cribbage & visiting her lifelong retreat, the Chesapeake Bay, where she spent her family summers growing up.
She touched the lives of everyone who knew her and was more than anything else, kind.
Gay was predeceased by her parents, Grandison and Lillian, her brother Grandison Greer and sister Judith Ann.
She is survived by her son Kurt and wife Rocio of Burke, VA, grandchildren Diego, Christina and Emilio, great-grandchildren River and Liam and brother Gerald Allen.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.demainefunerals.com for the Duty family.
Services will be Friday, October 22nd from 5pm to 7pm at Demaine Funeral Home located at 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA 22151.
To honor her late sister Judy, in lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions should be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. This was a cause that captured Gay's passion.
