George "Junior" Richard Carter Jr.

George Richard Carter Jr., 79, of Arlington, VA, died peacefully on Thursday, October 4, 2018, surrounded by loved ones. Born June 15, 1939, he was the son of the late George Carter and Martha (Willie) Henry and the beloved husband of Patricia (Carters) Carter. George enjoyed doting on his family, keeping up with and sharing his opinions on political developments, and quiet time and celebrations. He was a fan of the Washington Redskins, a dog lover, and an extremely hard worker. George was dedicated to his work for Red Top Cab in Arlington, VA and appreciated the many friends, the support he received throughout his career and their kindness to Patricia. In addition to his loving wife, Patricia, George is survived by sister Brenda Council, brothers Ronnie Carter, Robert Carter, and Gary Carter; daughters Lily Carter-Eichenlaub, Phelesia Phillips, Robin Lee, and Starlette Carter-Roney; only son Ricky (George Richard Carter III); daughter-in-law Kathy Carter; son-in-law Kurt Eichenlaub; Grandchildren Bryant Thomas Lee, Brenton Roney, Brenee Roney, Cassia Eichenlaub, Calla Eichenlaub, Laurel Eichenlaub, Uma Casey, Michelle Tuhowski and Kayla McGee; and great grandchildren Ashlee Elysse Chardey, Kanae Zoey Lee, Louella Price, Samara Lee, Trinity Tuhowski and Koen Tuhowski; and, uncles Dr. James Oliver Willie, Jr., and Dr. Charles Willie. George is preceded in death by his brother Melvin Carter, granddaughter Rachel Chardey Lee, and Uncle Earl Lee Willie. The family appreciates the many kindnesses of the staff at Emilia Assisted Living, for their care and support of George during his final year. Family and friends will be received at the Demaine Funeral Home in Springfield, Virginia. Visitation is planned 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday in the Madison Room And 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday in the Jefferson Room. Saturday, the Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday with visitation following until 1:00 PM.
