Harold was born in Middleway, WV to the late Mhlor and Elizabeth White. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was married on March 25, 1949 to the late Doris (Dottie) White. Red was a hard worker and was determined his life would be better than his childhood as a rural farmer. He worked as an airline mechanic for United Airlines and sold Electrolux vacuums as a part time job. Red was a member of Franconia United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Springfield American Legion and Arlington Moose where he enjoyed many evenings dancing the night away with Dottie. Red used his farming knowledge to achieve the perfect, weed free yard and grow his signature gigantic tomatoes, which he loved giving to his friends and family. He also loved to fish whether it was out in the Chesapeake Bay, on the River or at Lake Accotink. In recent years, he enjoyed life at Sunrise Assisted Living where he was the social butterfly, cruising the halls with his scooter and Alexa, breaking out in a song and enjoying Bingo.
Harold is predeceased by his parents, his brothers Mhlor, Jr., Donald, Lester, and Roger; sisters Rose, Doris and Ruth; and his beloved wife, Dottie.
Harold is survived by his brother, Norman; his children, Craig (Peggy) and Beth (Dave); grandchildren Kevin (Ellen Anne) White, Sarah (John) Rabaut, Stacey (Lynn) LaLand, and Lindsay (Rylee) Dungan; great grandchildren Taylor White, Bennett White, Gibson White, Beau Rabaut, Camden Rabaut and Aubrey LaLand.
